Belfast Harbour Marina has reached another important sustainability milestone, becoming the first marina in the UK and Ireland to install an innovative Aquapod system designed to help protect the marine environment.

Located in the heart of Titanic Quarter, the Aquapod captures floating litter, natural debris and microplastics before they can enter the wider waterway, supporting cleaner waters and healthier marine habitats for wildlife and those who enjoy Belfast’s iconic waterfront.

The installation forms part of Belfast Harbour’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable waterfront management. In addition to collecting debris, the Aquapod will provide valuable environmental monitoring data, helping marina teams better understand water quality and further improve environmental performance over time.
