From countdown to launch, to interstellar discoveries, every experience is designed to ignite curiosity and fuel imagination.

Perfect for families, this action-packed adventure brings the thrill of space exploration to life right here at W5. Suit up, and prepare for lift-off, this is one mission you won’t want to miss.

The Mission
W5 has been transformed into The Space Explorer Academy, where young recruits can take part in an exciting training programme to prepare them for life as an astronaut.

From countdown to blast-off, each stage of the journey unlocks new challenges and discoveries. As recruits progress through their missions, they’ll build their skills, test their curiosity, and work towards the ultimate goal: completing the adventure and earning their Mission Accomplished Certificate.

An unforgettable space experience for the next generation of explorers ready to take their first steps beyond Earth.

Your mission begins this summer.

Cosmic Kids HQ
Young astronauts are invited to suit up and step into character at the Cosmic Kids HQ. Here, they can let their imaginations soar with the possibilities of space exploration that await.

To prepare, young astronauts can also build their own rockets and plan their mission ahead.

The Immersive Space Journey
Astronauts begin their journey by boarding a spacecraft at the launch pad, preparing for liftoff to the W5 Space Station. The countdown begins, engines fire, and suddenly you’re blasting into space, leaving Earth behind as the mission gets underway.

The journey continues as you move into ‘The Bridge’ of the space station. Inside, you’re surrounded by incredible views of the galaxy, with Earth floating at the centre as you explore your surroundings.

Along the way, you’ll come face-to-face with real space artefacts and mission-inspired displays, including a real moon rock sample and a full space suit.

While on ‘The Bridge’, young astronauts can design and colour their own robot, alien, and rocket at the Draw Alive: Space Creation, where imagination becomes part of the mission.

Build and Launch Your Own Rocket
To earn your Cosmic Launcher Award, space explorers step into the role of rocket engineers and take on the challenge of designing and building their very own rocket, before heading to the launch pad to put it to the test.

With air-powered systems ready, rockets are set in place and sent soaring high into the sky. Watch what happens as they take off, how they travel, and how far they go.

Then it’s back to base to make improvements. Refine the design, test new ideas, and get ready to go again. With every attempt, you’ll push your rocket further, getting closer to the perfect launch. Every test, every adjustment, every flight is all part of the mission.

Mars Rover Mission
During this mission, you will be faced with an uneven landscape waiting to be explored. You’re in control of a rover robot, ready to begin your journey across the Mars terrain.

Carefully guide your rover across the uneven ground, weaving around rocks and obstacles as you venture deeper into the extraterrestrial surface. Every move counts; smooth steering, smart timing, and careful planning will keep your mission on track.

As you progress, you’ll be tested on accuracy and decision-making as you push further across Mars. Complete the mission to earn your Rover Engineer Award, a badge of skill for a true space explorer.

Zero-Gravity Photo Opportunity
As the missions come to an end, it’s time for one last unforgettable moment!

Young recruits are invited to step into a thrilling, zero-gravity-inspired scene. Drift, pose, and celebrate everything you’ve discovered through W5 Space Explorer Academy.

Capture a fun out-of-this-world photo in this immersive space setting and take home a special keepsake to remember your mission.

Your training may be over, but your adventure into space has just begun!
